The 40 Best Reasons To Visit New York City

In late March of this year I suddenly found myself without a girlfriend, a place to live, and any idea of where I was going to spend my next seven weeks before A Summer To Serve kicked off. The week afterward was by far the lowest point of the year. After coming off of the highs of Skip Winter, TEDxCMU, and SXSW, it hit me like a ton of bricks.

I doubted myself a lot.

I wondered if I had made the right choice. I wondered if I should have tried to stick it out at my corporate job. I repeatedly asked myself, “What the hell am I doing with my life?”

I questioned if it was worth it to try and live my life on purpose instead of being comfortable in my already “perfect life.”

With no place to go I decided to come to New York City for those seven weeks. A majority of the Wolveri family lives there so I figured it would be a good place to spend some time.

There was a crucial moment on the second day of my visit when I realized how truly blessed I am. It had been less than 24 hours in the city and I was holding the apartment keys from two of my friends who told me I could stay for as long as I needed and that they were there for me. It touched me so much that I had this incredible safety net and it’s something that I will never forget.

Over the course of the past seven weeks, it’s been a whirlwind of adventures, meetups, mastermind group meetings, late night conversations, dates, and epic dance parties. Most importantly though, I got to connect and reconnect with some of the most amazing people in the world.

They don’t call New York City the best city in the world for nothing. It truly is.

The tastiest food, the smartest people, the best nightlife, the most beautiful women, and unlimited opportunity.

Throughout the course of having the best of everything at my fingertips for seven weeks, I discovered what I consider to be the 40 best reasons to visit New York City. I hope you have the chance to experience them sometime.
