You Are Enough
I’ve been teaching yoga for a little over four years now. I’ve been practicing for around seven years.
I’ve taught all over the country in Arizona, Ohio and New Jersey. I’ve taught private sessions, classes at gyms with over 50 students at a time, and a corporate workshop at a Fortune 100 company.
Some initial thoughts running through my mind were:
- Oh snap, New York City! I’m being called up to the majors. Am I qualified or experienced enough to teach here?
- It’s been almost a year since I’ve taught a class. Will I still be any good?
- I’ll be teaching many of my closest friends. Will it be weird?
After a very short time of letting those fears and worries float around my head, I came back to a place of power, confidence and security with a simple three word sentence:
You are enough.
And seriously, you are enough.
You already have everything that you need to fulfill your highest purpose, overcome any challenge that is facing you, and live a life full of love and joy. All the answers to all your life’s problems are already there within you. You just need to ask yourself the right questions and give yourself a little space to think.
You don’t need a higher salary, bigger boobs, a girlfriend, another degree, a new car, more Twitter followers, or that purse you saw through the window.
There will always be someone out there prettier, skinnier, wealthier, smarter, faster, or taller than you. You are not Lebron James. You are not Megan Fox. You are not Richard Branson. And that’s ok. Comparisons are a big waste of time anyway.
In this moment, you are totally complete. You don’t need anything else. You are enough.
You are the total fucking package and one day someone will be lucky enough to share his or her life with you.
So for once stop judging yourself and accept yourself for who you are. Totally, completely, and fully.
You are absolutely perfect just the way you are.
You are enough.
